Sorry, “Just The Creme Oreos” Aren’t Real (Yet?)

Twitter had a rare joyful outburst yesterday when it started circulating images of “Just the Creme Oreos.” Unfortunately, it seems like an April Fools’ Day prank – but if we’re lucky, it will be one of the few that actually comes true.

The images of the wafer-free Oreo package didn’t even come from Oreo or Nabisco’s Twitter account. But as soon as the idea broke, people celebrated the thought of getting their creme fix without turning their teeth black from cookie crumbs.

Sometimes, customer demand can turn a joke idea into a real one. The website ThinkGeek has done this a few times with their April Fools’ Day pranks, including the Tauntaun sleeping bag (a reference to Star Wars, where Luke Skywalker slept inside an animal corpse to keep warm), and cans of so-called unicorn meat (the can is real, not the meat).

What were your favorite pranks this year? Let us know in the comments below.
