“Success is not measured by a luxurious lifestyle, but by the passion instilled in me. This passion that I own is an air that I breathe solely because I know that I am capable of anything.
“The universal question I repetitively inquire, ‘How will I attain my success?’ lingers in my head. In my theory, the way to attain success is to have the right attitude towards anything that you encounter. Yes, I live in a single-mother household, yes my brother is a drug-addict, yes my father abandoned me, and yes I am a minority within a minority, but I do not succumb to the hardships.
“Instead, I extract knowledge and power from such calamities. You see, this is a vital key to my success. I feed from pain and tears, and turn them into a positive energy that enables me to stand tall. The greatest initiative I am taking towards success is education.
“Sound too cliché? Well, education is an opportunity that many adolescents do not take advantage of. They have the wrong attitude towards school. Personally, I see education as a stepping stone to my future, and every leap I take, is a leap closer to my reality.
“I am currently attending a community college working on my Communications major, with an emphasis on Journalism. I engage in school functions, even study groups, and I participate in community service. I work full time, go to school full time, while maintaining sanity in the household.
“Everything I do, I do it in an optimistic fashion, because life itself is a journey, and we ALL hit bumpy roads. So everyday, as I do my morning stretches, I am ready to tackle anything. The fight in the dog is evident in my poise, fierceness is palpable in my voice, and my perseverance shines through.
“So after I walk those steps to reach my college diploma, I will smile and know that I am the first to graduate college in my family. I will owe my success to my little secret: attitude and education.

have fun wit the chedda babe. u deserve it =D
Wowww!!! Congrats baby girl. Keep up the good work.
Pain is pain, no matter the age, race, gender or nationality. Pain is a strange thing; it shares mutual interest and never judges. It’s also universal.
Hope you spend yours in a good way!
Congratulations! Looks like you picked the right field (You got skills!) …though your words read somewhat like poetry. I wish you the best.
u ugly b
thanks hater… i bet you look WAY better.
It never ceases to amaze me how really “ugly” some people can be towards others. You (Keith) don’t know Karinn, but yet you’re quick to judge how ugly (in your eyes) she may be. She may not be up to your standards of beauty, but I can almost guarantee that she’s more beautiful (inside and out) than you will ever be. I, myself, don’t know Karinn, but I can pretty much make a summation that she is a kind and sweet soul just by looking at her sincere eyes and her sweet smile. I’d be willing to bet that you’re probably not much to look at. Hasn’t your mother or father ever told you “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover”? Karinn, God bless you and keep doing whatever it is that you’re doing because obviously, you’re doing something right.
