DrJays.com and AKOO present “Style For Success 2009″

Because we’re interested in your ability to succeed, DrJays.com and AKOO want to hear from you. Let us know the hard work you’re putting in to achieve your goals, the real steps you’re taking to plant those seeds for your future. Send us a brief story, accompanied with a photo of yourself, and you just might be featured on the site.

HOW TO ENTER
• Entries open: Tuesday, August 4
• Entries close: Friday, September 4 (5pm PST/8pm EST)
• Send an email with the subject line “Style For Success” and your name, age and state (here’s an example: Style For Success – Joe Smith, 16, GA) to: [email protected]
• In the body of the email, answer the following question:
• “What steps are you taking to achieve success in your life?”
• Include one image of yourself to accompany your submission.
GUIDELINES
• Contest is restricted to US residents only.
• Entrants must be aged between 14 and 23.
• Submissions are to be NO MORE THAN 250 WORDS, with no racial, sexual or cultural prejudice and/or profanity.
• Submissions will be judged on content, grammar, originality and passion.
• Photos may not contain nudity, violent or offensive material or copyrighted images. If you violate these terms, your submission will be deemed unacceptable.
• Basic photo guidelines are as follows:
- JPG format (no BMP, PNG, TIFF or GIF files).
- JPG size < 50K
- JPG dimensions < 800×600
- No text or graphics over the image
- Not overly manipulated (Photoshop filters, extreme colorization, etc).
• By sending in your image, you grant DrJays.com permission to feature it on our site accompanying your submission.
EXPOSURE
• Each week, approved submissions will be chosen to feature on DrJays.com’s “Style For Success” section.
PRIZES
Based on all entries, one male and one female will be chosen as Style For Success winners by the DrJays.com team.
MALE MAJOR PRIZE WINNER:

Wow…. after reading everyon’s story, this is going to be a tought rought to choose from. so far “Corey Beauge” story is very intresting it cought my eye alot. everything he said he is right. and i think he deserves it.
After reading everybody’s writing on how they are achieving Success in life. i must everyone did a good job, after reading a few i mostly read almost the same situation. But a few were good. So far i think “Marvin Etienne” was good in all because he basically briefs on what success is all about and the situations that we are all facing. his was great to me. But for everyone who entered the contest good luck too all.

WOW, you have no respect for peoples story’s, but remember last years winners wrote more than 250 so don’t be surprised when the winner’s are the ones who wrote more than 250, i feel that if your story is great and it more words by a little, you will win.

“I seen you have taken many steps in your life towards creating a better future for your self & family. Being a teenager is no easy job in itself, and I see you strive to overcome it all & be the best person you can with be with a positive attitude at all times. I also see that you are very excited, and highly motivated to attend college. Despite the many obstacles that have been thrown at you, this is a very important lesson for all of us. Each of us has our own journey in life, all of life is a journey which paths we take, what we look back on, & what we look forward to is up to us. We determine our destination, what kind of road we will take to get there, and how happy we are when we get there. Your are truly successful, and I believe you deserve this award, and it will also make you mother situation easier because I know that down in Florida, there are no jobs at all & The economy is very bad as well.
