“Hi, my name is Cecilia Cerda and I have a son who is 23 years old. He has two beautiful daughters in his life.
“Last year his daughters’ mother left them out of nowhere and hasn’t been heard of since – not even a phone call. I am so proud of my son Benny because there isn’t a day in his life that he doesn’t spend time with his daughters. When they are sick he’s there for them, when there’s a school activity for his daughters he’s there for them.
“He’s a single dad and I know it’s hard for him but he shows no weakness. I am so proud of him; all of his focus is on his daughters. They love him so much and I know for a fact that he is the king of their life and I would want this [prize] more than anything for my son, just to show him how good of a father he has been. My son is the most important person in their life. I’m so proud of him.”
